My journey back into life began in 1975 after surviving two bouts of uterine cancer. I was 35-years-old. I had begun taking Yoga classes in 1973. I believe that Yoga and the good Lord saved my life. I rededicated my life to share my experiences and knowledge to awaken the healing powers inside all of us to heal body, mind, and spirit.
In 1989, I took a four year sabbatical to study with my beloved Yoga teacher, Kali Ray, whilst living the lifestyle of a Yogini. This included a diet using live foods (the vegan diet) as medicine for prevention of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Kali Ray is the founder of Kali Ray TriYoga Flows. I immersed myself in deep inner work. The answers came to me while in deep meditation.
This led to the creation of my first endeavor named, Flowing Gentle Path Yoga, a system of yoga therapy that involves a whole body workout while sitting in a large armless chair or on the floor, using the ancient system of Pranayama (breath control) and Hatha Yoga (physical exercise). This program was tailored for chair-bound people who could not get on their feet due to being overweight as well as other life-threatening illnesses.
I created this system at the Rice Diet Program beginning in 1993. My inspiration always comes from the patients that are helped and cured of many health issues with FIRST medical, then diet - you are what you eat. The body is the temple of the living spirit. My system of flowing with the breath releases tension on the cellular level.
In 1999, I awoke in the middle of the night in pain with my thumb joint locked. I could not open my hands without getting out of bed and massaging and shaking my hands to release the lock. I thought my Yoga career was over. The upper level Yoga I teach is done with one's hands flat on the floor. As a powerful, strong healthy woman, I realized that if I could be this compromised by crippling joint disease, how did the patients I was leading in Yoga Therapy feel? My osteoarthritis is 80 percent healed due to Yoga therapy and most importantly, diet.
Inner peace and mental clarity come from a quiet balanced mind. This movement session will release tension, blocked energy, and help to achieve the goal of Yoga - Supreme Happiness.
Loving kindness, compassion, and understanding for all beings.
